THE IMPORTANCE OF INDEPENDENT
FINANCIAL ADVICE

We are a straight talking financial planning firm

We are built around our clients.  You are all individuals so every piece of advice we give is unique to you.

Our company is built around our clients.  We won’t treat you as a number.  You are all individuals, so every piece of advice we give is bespoke to you.  With over 100 years of advisory experience between us, Verdant Financial Planning offer highly qualified independent advice, so you can rest assured you are in capable hands.

Maintaining our independence and having access to the whole of the market for our clients, is central to our core beliefs.  We are not tied to any one investment house or life office provider, allowing us to provide you with maximum choice and flexibility at any given time.

We strive to be successful and want to share that success with the communities both we and our clients live in.  We aim to achieve this by helping local clubs and charities and to make a positive contribution to our community.

What we do

We will meet with you and establish your personal circumstances and goals, assess how much risk you wish to take and discuss if your existing products are fit for purpose.  We will not charge for this initial meeting …although we do like a cup of tea!

After conducting in depth research, we will then write to you with a detailed report explaining your current position, confirming your objectives and providing recommendations on how to achieve these goals. These reports are not as much fun as they sound, so we will meet with you to run through them and should you then wish to proceed, we will then implement the advice.

Thereafter, we will want to see you regularly to make sure your plans are monitored and remain suitable for you and your family.  If your life changes for good or for bad, we will want to see you to ensure that everything remains on track.

Should you wish, we can also work with your accountant and keep them informed of our recommendations.

What we don't do

Some people don’t want our advice but want us to facilitate an instruction.  This might be investing in a specific fund, surrendering a product or transferring a pension.  Sorry, but we won’t act for insistent clients, although we will happily talk things through.  Our clients seek our continued advice and form a long-lasting relationship with us to ensure long term protection.

We don’t advise on mortgages or equity release schemes, but can point you to trusted advisers who can help.

We do not write Wills, but your accountant might have this facility in house or may have a link to a local Will writer or solicitor.  If not, we will happily point you in the right direction.

We have chosen not to provide advice on any aspect of defined benefit (final salary) pension schemes.

We can only give advice in the UK.
